Our inventory of used vehicles is not limited to Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram. Here on our lot, you can find cars, trucks, and SUVs from virtually every major manufacturer through our used inventory. And this includes imports and luxury models as well as vehicles from other domestic brands. We also have used vehicles that are suitable for any budget, from older models all the way up to the current model year. Should you be interested in something from Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or Ram, then you will even be able to take advantage of our high value Certified Pre-Owned options with their extended factory support. Here at Dan Cummins of Georgetown, we have a used car for everyone.
Buying a used car has many benefits. While it may not give you that new car smell or the pride of being the very first owner, a used car will provide significant dollar savings both upfront and throughout its life. While new cars can be expensive, we sell used cars for as little as $2,000, making them an option for any budget. Even if you are looking for a newer used car with low mileage, you will save thousands of dollars compared to buying that same model new. And if saving money is not your priority, the much lower price of a used car, truck, or SUV can usually allow you to upgrade to a more capable or more luxurious model.
Buying used does not just save you money upfront. Even a relatively new used car will not suffer the same massive depreciation that new cars experience. When you buy a new car, its value drops dramatically. But the value of a used car remains much more stable. This means that when the time comes to trade your car in for a newer model, you will get more of your initial investment back if you are trading in something you bought used. Finally, car insurance is heavily dependent on the age of the vehicle being insured, so buying an older used car will likely save you even more money every month.
The downsides of buying a used car have also shrunk compared to the past. Today, cars are lasting longer than ever before, and it is now rare to require any significant maintenance before 100,000 miles. With a little attention and care, any modern car should be able to make it to 200,000 miles or more. Further, most of the potential risk in buying a used car is now gone thanks to the ease of accessing vehicle history reports. When you shop at Dan Cummins of Georgetown, you will find that every single used vehicle on our lot has a full Carfax vehicle history report posted for free on the website.
No matter what you are looking for in a used vehicle, you will find it here at Dan Cummins of Georgetown. Our expansive inventory includes cars, trucks, and SUVs from virtually every manufacturer. If you want something powerful, comfortable, fast, efficient, or affordable, we have several options that will meet your needs. On our lot, you will find heavy-duty pickup trucks, full-size SUVs, sports cars, and hybrids, as well as the more common sedans and crossovers. This diverse selection of vehicles means that you will always be able to discover your perfect used car here at Dan Cummins of Georgetown.
In addition to the variety of vehicle types available on our lot, we also have options from many different brands. In addition to Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram, you will find used cars from countless other domestic and foreign manufacturers. We even have a selection of used luxury vehicles if you are interested in driving something with a little more style and comfort than the average car. It does not matter what you need in a used car, with our expansive inventory of quality used vehicles you will be able to find a car, truck, or SUV that meets your requirements.
One of the greatest advantages of buying a used car from Dan Cummins of Georgetown is our high value Certified Pre-Owned options. Although every used vehicle that we sell here meets our high standards for quality and will take care of you for years to come, our Certified Pre-Owned cars are a cut above and come with additional factory support. Only the best used Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles are eligible to be sold as Certified Pre-Owned and must meet rigorous standards established by the manufacturer. With any Certified Pre-Owned vehicle, you can rest assured that our skilled technicians conducted the factory mandated 125 point inspection before we put it on the lot.
However, what really sets a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle apart from our other high quality used cars is the extended factory support. All Certified Pre-Owned Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram models come standard with a 3-month/3,000-mile Maximum Care Warranty as well as a 7-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Warranty, and additional warranties are also available if you desire even greater peace of mind.
In addition to the extended warranty coverage, our Certified Pre-Owned models also offer 24-hour roadside assistance and a rental car allowance during warranty work. Finally, compatible vehicles will also come with a complimentary 3-month subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio.
If you are unsure about what type of used vehicle is best for you, then we encourage you to contact us so that we can help you search. The team here at Dan Cummins of Georgetown has a lot of experience in matching cars to customers, and we will be able to quickly provide you with some promising options. However, if you want some basic pointers to narrow your search before heading to our dealership, here are a few tips for choosing the right type of used car for your needs.
The most versatile type of vehicle on the road today is the crossover SUV. These vehicles are built on a car platform, making them a comfortable and efficient daily driver. But unlike a car, a crossover SUV provides a commanding driving position, plenty of ground clearance, lots of cargo space, and the option of all-wheel drive. This makes them an excellent all-around option from city streets to country roads. There are three size categories of SUVs - subcompact models have five seats, but the back seats are usually somewhat cramped, compact models also have five seats but have more space, and finally, full-size models have three rows of seats for seven or eight passengers.
However, if you do not need the bad weather and off-road capabilities of an SUV, then traditional sedans and hatchbacks are still worth considering. While they sacrifice some comfort and utility, they are more efficient and more affordable. These attributes make sedans and hatchbacks ideal commuter cars and city vehicles. And if you want something on the sportier side, then a traditional car with its lighter weight and lower center of gravity should be your first choice. Cars fall into four main sizes - subcompacts provide basic transportation, compacts are the most popular and provide the best mix of cost to capability, midsize cars offer a little more luxury and performance, while the now rare full-size cars are a good family vehicle.
On the other hand, if you need something with even more capability than an SUV, then you will probably want a truck. With rugged body on frame construction, powerful engine options, and an open bed for hauling large items, it is impossible to beat a truck for general utility. And with modern crew cab designs, a truck even offers more cabin space than many cars and SUVs. But the downside is that this capability does not come cheap, and trucks are expensive to purchase and to operate. Modern trucks fall into two broad categories - midsize and full-size, with full-size trucks being considerably more popular. However, full-size trucks are themselves divided into half-ton, three-quarter-ton, and one-ton trucks, with the larger options being optimized for towing and other heavy-duty work.
Finally, there are more specialty vehicle types, such as minivans and sports cars. However, unless you specifically desire the unique capabilities that these vehicles provide, you will probably be better off sticking with the more common vehicle types. This is because the specialty vehicles generally accept compromises to daily drivability in order to excel in their specific niche. But still, all of these are merely general guidelines, and we encourage you to contact us so that we can tailor our recommendations to your personal needs
For a used car, we would recommend the Toyota Camry. This midsize sedan is the single most popular car in America and offers a well-rounded mix of reliability, comfort, and performance. A bit larger and better equipped than the more common compact cars, the Camry is a vehicle that can comfortably fit full-size adults in the back seats. And if you desire a bit more fun, then the Camry’s available V6 engine will provide surprisingly good acceleration.
Alternatively, if you want something a bit more affordable and efficient, consider a used Ford Focus. This compact car will cost you considerably less both upfront and in gas bills. And despite being smaller than the Camry, the Focus is also available as a hatchback, giving it significantly more cargo space.
For a used SUV, our first choice would be a Jeep Cherokee. This rugged vehicle is one of the most capable compact crossovers on the market, providing the unmatched off-road and bad weather performance expected of a Jeep. It also offers some fairly powerful engine options for its segment, making it just as enjoyable to drive on the road. And if you want an SUV that is capable of real off-roading, then look for a Cherokee Trailhawk, which comes with numerous factory performance upgrades.
However, the Cherokee should not be confused with the midsize Jeep Grand Cherokee. This is a much larger, more powerful, and more luxurious vehicle that shares nothing with the Cherokee aside from its name. But if you do need something that is even more capable than the Cherokee, then the Grand Cherokee is an excellent option.
For a used truck, we would have to recommend a Ram. Specifically, the Ram 1500. This half-ton truck stands out from the competition for its comfortable ride and numerous convenience features. If you are looking for a do it all truck, then a crew cab Ram 1500 is almost impossible to beat. However, if you need a truck for towing a trailer, boat, or camper, then we would advise upgrading to the Ram 2500 or Ram 3500. These three-quarter-ton and one-ton trucks come with upgraded suspension and more powerful engines that allow them to tow significantly heavier loads than the Ram 1500 comfortably. Whenever you are towing, it is always better to have more truck than you need than to be right at the limit of what your truck can pull.
While all of these recommendations are excellent all-around picks, there is no guarantee that they will be ideal for your needs. Picking the right car depends heavily on personal requirements and taste. And the only way to ensure that you chose a car, truck, or SUV that you are happy with is head out to a dealership and explore your options.
Here at Dan Cummins of Georgetown, we have a wide variety of used makes and models for every budget. This includes a number of older options that we are selling for an extremely affordable price. And our budget options do not only consist of basic sedans but include some SUVs and even pickup trucks. At our dealership, we do our best to provide the widest selection of used vehicles around so that everyone can have access to the features that they need.
While our most affordable options may not have all the features of a more modern car, we can assure you that anything you see on our lot is a mechanically sound vehicle that meets our high standards for quality and value. As proof of this, every vehicle that we sell has a free Carfax vehicle history report posted on our website. At Dan Cummins of Georgetown, we want all of our customers to enjoy owning a reliable vehicle no matter their budget.
