In this regard, the 2021 Ram 1500 is among the finest options on the road, with some of the most powerful and advanced engines we have ever seen. The addition of the TRX and its supercharged engine, in particular, is one of our favorites for this truck. All of these engines come with a TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission for a smooth and responsive drive.

  Pentastar V6 or HEMI V8?

  The standard engine on the 2021 Ram 1500 is a 3.6L Pentastar V6 with eTorque, a mild hybrid system that boosts low-end power for improved towing and hauling. This engine delivers 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque for great starting performance. There is an available 5.7L HEMI V8 engine, which you can get with the eTorque system or without, and it gives you 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. If you choose an engine with eTorque, then the hybrid system can boost performance with an extra 130 lb-ft of low-end torque, although the headline number remains the same.

  EcoDiesel or Hellcat?

  If you prefer diesel, then there is an available 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine that delivers 260 hp and 480 lb-ft of torque, which is best-in-class diesel torque and makes for a fantastic driving experience. However, something you will only find on the 2021 Ram 1500 that blows away other trucks on the road is the available 6.2L supercharged HEMI V8 engine, which gives you 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque for unbelievable performance.
