Furthermore, with other brands also pulling their muscle cars out of production, it feels like the roads just got a little quieter and a little less exciting. But it’s not really the end! After all, Dodge created possibly one of the best final production years ever for both cars, and you can still find these amazing models here at our Dodge dealership. Surely, the 2023 Dodge Charger and Dodge Challenger will go down in history as one of the most impressive farewell campaigns of all time. As a result, it’s very clear that the Charger and Challenger will continue to live on. First, there was the “Last Call” series, followed by a Mopar super-reunion special edition, not to mention Dodge taking the opportunity to exorcise its last Demon. We’d say 2023 was a depressing year, but we’re still reeling from the amazing way Charger and Challenger said goodbye. The Last Call Models Dodge made it clear in 2022 that the 2023 Charger and 2023 Challenger would signal the end of production for these two giants. However, instead of releasing a single special commemorative edition or adding a plaque to the interior of the last production year, Dodge created an entire series of special Charger and Challenger models that ranged across all trim and luxury levels. This would be the last time it was called that, however, because after these years, Ram became its own brand separate from Dodge, and it’s been the Ram 1500 or Ram pickup ever since. These early fourth-generation models featured numerous engine options, including a 3.7 V6 and a 5.7L HEMI V8, along with class-exclusive manual transmissions after Ford discontinued its manual transmission in the F-150 following 2010. The 2013 Ram 1500 For the 2013 model, the Ram 1500 received a refresh and style update that included a new front fascia, updated headlamps, and interior improvements. At this point, Dodge was no longer in the picture, and all models going forward only had Ram insignias and badging. The engine lineup for 2013 trims was revised, with the standard 3.7L V6 being replaced by a more powerful 4.7L V8 as the starting engine. An air suspension also became an available option for 2013, while the updated interior makes this a great one to look for if you want to save money with an older truck without missing out on anything. The 2014-2015 Ram 1500 Updates were minimal for the 2014 model, following the 2013 refresh, though an EcoDiesel V6 engine did become available. Along with a unique interior, the Rebel also has larger tires that are perfect for getting superior traction in rough conditions, along with skid plates and recovery hooks. The 5.0-inch Infotainment display became standard on starting models for 2016, making this a great one to look for no matter where you prefer driving. The 2017-2018 Ram 1500 Our favorite light-duty truck received another update for 2017, including new exterior details on the Laramie Longhorn and Limited trims based on styling introduced with the Rebel. The 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 engine wasn’t available for part of 2017 but returned with the 2018 model, so keep that in mind if you’re interested in a diesel engine since it might be harder to find on that one. High-end trims like the Rebel and Big Horn received updates for their standard features, including an 8.0-inch Infotainment display and a nine-speaker Alpine sound system. For the 2018 model year, Ram updated the interior tech with HD Radio and some other options, though there weren’t many other major changes. The 2019 Ram 1500 With the 2019 model, Ram launched an all-new fifth generation for their legendary pickup. There were numerous changes for this model, not the least of which was the introduction of an available eTorque mild hybrid system that boosts power output for the engine. A stunning 12-inch infotainment display also became available inside this next-generation Ram truck, creating one of the most technologically advanced and luxurious interiors we’ve ever seen. This is the perfect choice if you’re looking for a used model with the latest features while still having enough years on it to save you some money. One thing to note is that the previous fourth-generation Ram truck remained in production for 2019 and beyond as the Ram 1500 Classic. This wasn’t just a one-year thing either; the Ram 1500 Classic has remained in production and available as new models with the look and features of its fourth generation. Keep this in mind as you look at used Ram trucks from the last few years, and be sure you know which model you’re interested in while you shop. The 2020-2023 Ram 1500 Updates since the release of the current generation have been relatively minimal, though you’ll find certain features on one year that you might not be able to find on another.
